Recently, the inauguration ceremony of the Global Cooperation Center of the School of Information Science and Technology at Fudan University was held in the conference room of the No. 2 Interdisciplinary Building on the Jiangwan Campus. Tian Mei, Director of the Center for Advancing Global Collaboration; Xu Yefang, Deputy Director; Wang Lina, Acting Deputy Director; Xu Yang, Party Secretary of the School; Chi Nan, Executive Dean; other members of the School leadership team; and faculty representatives attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Gao Yue, Vice Dean of the School and Director of the Global Cooperation Center.

Xu Yang first extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the Global Cooperation Center. He noted that amid the ongoing wave of the information technology revolution, the development of future information disciplines, scientific and technological innovation, and emerging industries all require close alignment with the global frontiers of information technology. Only by doing so can the School fulfill its mission of serving major national strategic needs and the forefront of economic development. The establishment of the Center marks a key step in advancing the School’s internationalization strategy.
He emphasized that the Center should focus on disciplinary development, proactively expand global networks, and mobilize collective efforts across the School to build a new highland for global cooperation in information disciplines. It should also develop flagship initiatives for cultivating top innovative talent and for international scientific research collaboration and exchange. He affirmed that the School will provide full support to the Center as its strong backing.

Gao Yue provided a detailed introduction to the Center’s positioning, responsibilities, and future priorities. He reviewed the School’s substantial achievements in international cooperation and exchange in recent years, including student training agreements, reception of global delegations, and the hosting of international conferences and competitions.
Looking ahead, Gao stated that the Center will focus on its mission of building bridges, pooling resources, and cultivating talent. Key priorities will include advancing international programs, expanding English-medium courses, strengthening international faculty development, and promoting high-quality research and academic excellence.

Subsequently, representatives from the University’s Center for Advancing Global Collaboration and the School jointly presented appointment letters to Gao Yue (Director), Zhan Yiqiang, Zou Zhuo, Zhang Jingjing (Deputy Directors), and Fan Jiawen and Zhan Min (Secretaries) of the School’s Global Cooperation Center. With the full support of both the University and the School, the Global Cooperation Center of the School of Information Science and Technology was officially launched.



In her concluding remarks, Tian Mei elaborated on the original vision and operational mechanism of the University’s Center for Advancing Global Collaboration. She suggested that the new Center mobilize diverse stakeholders to form a “mini think tank” to provide strategic advice for the development of the University, the School, and related disciplines.
She emphasized that internationalization is not merely about resource alignment, but also about intellectual exchange and strategic coordination. She expressed hope that the Center would become a hub connecting global wisdom with local practice.

The establishment of the Global Cooperation Center of the School of Information Science and Technology not only opens a new chapter in the School’s international development, but also injects new momentum into Fudan University’s efforts to build a world-class university. With strong institutional support, the Center is poised to make significant contributions to cultivating innovative talents with a global vision and promoting international research collaboration.
