On October 17, 2025, Andrew Atherton, Vice-President of the University of Southampton, led a delegation comprising representatives from the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Faculty of Medicine on a visit to Fudan university. Vice President Chen Zhimin extended a warm welcome and held talks with the delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the strategic cooperation plan and implementation pathway for the next phase of collaboration between the two universities. Key topics included joint education programs, dual-degree programs, and short-term exchange programs, with specific arrangements and action plans deliberated.

In addition, representatives from relevant faculties of the University of Southampton held separate meetings with counterparts from our university’s Academy for Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation, School of Public Health, and Department of Cultural Heritage and Museology, conducting substantive consultations on follow-up cooperation arrangements.
