Delegation from Technical University of Munich visits Fudan University

    On December 12, 2025, Professor Juliane Winkelmann, Vice President of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), visited our university. President Jin Li and Vice President Chen Zhimin warmly welcomed the delegation. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics, including scientific research cooperation, teacher-student exchanges, joint talent training, and achievement transformation, to plan the direction for future cooperation. Both parties expressed that they would take this visit as an opportunity to deepen mutual trust and build a pragmatic and lasting partnership.

    As a renowned expert in the fields of human genetics and neurogenetics, Professor Winkelmann was also invited to share his research projects and engage in in-depth discussions with experts and scholars from our Human Phenomics Research Institute. In the future, both parties will further focus on specific research directions and promote the development of new collaborative projects.

   Representatives from our university's Global Cooperation Promotion Center, Graduate School, Future Information Innovation College, International Institute of Smart Nanorobotics and Nanosystems, and Human Phenome Research Institute attended the meeting together.

    The Technical University of Munich (abbreviated as TUM) was founded in 1868 and is located in Munich, the largest city in southern Germany. It is one of the oldest technical universities in Germany and a key recipient of funding and support from the German government's Future Plan. As of 2024, TUM has produced 19 Nobel Prize winners, 24 Leibniz Prize winners, and 35 IEEE Fellows. In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, TUM ranked 22nd globally and once again became the best university in the European Union.
